Source Policy

We name sources, link to their reporting and state affiliations; channels of one publisher are not independent.

Attribution and independence

We name sources, link to their reporting and state relevant affiliations. Multiple channels from one publisher do not become multiple independent publishers. Forwarding or quoting another report is recorded as provenance rather than silently treated as new eyewitness evidence.

What we preserve and what we publish

The raw archive preserves the material used to assess reports. The public record links and attributes; it is not a mirror of publishers' articles. An authority's warning is reported as that authority's warning, not issued as our own advice.

Availability is not reporting activity

A source can answer successfully without filing anything new. Home-reader availability can depend on a personal computer and is excluded from absence detection. The source record distinguishes these limits rather than treating every quiet feed as a world event.
