Limits On Public Data

Public JSON allows 300 requests a minute from one address; past that we answer 429.

Our public JSON (the feed, event records and similar) allows 300 requests a minute from one network address. Past that we answer 429 Too Many Requests with a Retry-After header; wait and try again.

Why

The limit protects the service for everybody. It is far above what a reader or a sensible integration needs.
