The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced it is closing Germany's consulate general in Saint Petersburg along with local Goethe-Institut centres. All staff members from the consulate have been ordered to leave Russia no later than September 18. German authorities have not yet publicly responded to the announcement.
