Gulf of Mexico oil output shut in as Hurricane Isaias approaches

Status: published

Energy companies in the Gulf of Mexico have shut in roughly a quarter of their oil production and begun evacuating personnel ahead of Hurricane Isaias. The regulator reported that 511,619 barrels per day, or 25.08 percent of the region's output, had been taken offline. The full extent of broader operator curtailments remains unresolved as the storm develops.
