Captured between 2026-09-18T07:22:45.137Z and 2026-09-18T07:22:45.158Z. This is a captured core record, not a reconstruction of an arbitrary earlier moment.

Two barges sink off Ly Son in the South China Sea leaving eight missing

Status: withdrawn

Two barges, each carrying five people, have sunk within three miles of Ly Son off the coast of Vietnam. According to maritime authorities, two individuals were recovered while eight others remain missing. The cause of the sinkings has not been reported, and search efforts remain underway.

Withdrawn: published with a date we did not read. The source warning carries a military date-time group our parser could not read, so the record fell back to the time we ingested it and dated a 2021-2024 maritime broadcast as 2026-09-09. The incident described may be real; the date we gave it was ours, not the source's.
