Status: withdrawn
A 406 MHz distress signal has been detected in the eastern North Pacific at coordinates 39-35.00N, 130-43.40W, according to a maritime notice. Vessels in the vicinity have been requested to keep watch and assist if possible. The nature of the distress and the identity of the vessel or persons involved have not been confirmed.
Withdrawn: published with a date we did not read. The source warning carries a military date-time group our parser could not read, so the record fell back to the time we ingested it and dated a 2021-2024 maritime broadcast as 2026-09-09. The incident described may be real; the date we gave it was ours, not the source's.
