Captured record

Captured between 2026-09-29T03:32:44.773Z and 2026-09-29T03:32:44.798Z. This is a captured core record, not a reconstruction of an arbitrary earlier moment.

Five people reported overboard after vessel capsizes in Torres Strait

Status: withdrawn

Five people are reported overboard following the capsize of a vessel in the Torres Strait, according to a navigational warning. The capsized vessel was reported adrift along a trackline between coordinates 09-16.00S 142-13.00E and 09-25.00S 142-31.00E, with passing vessels requested to assist. The condition of the five individuals and whether any rescue operation has succeeded are not yet confirmed.

Withdrawn: published with a date we did not read. The source warning carries a military date-time group our parser could not read, so the record fell back to the time we ingested it and dated a 2021-2024 maritime broadcast as 2026-09-09. The incident described may be real; the date we gave it was ours, not the source's.
