Taiwan shuts down transport and services ahead of Typhoon Champi

Taiwan has instituted widespread shutdowns and cancelled hundreds of flights as Typhoon Champi approaches the island. Forecast models indicate the storm will pass off northeastern Taiwan with an impact radius large enough to cover most of the island across two days. The extent of any damage or disruption following its passage remains unresolved.
