UK approves development of Jackdaw natural gas field in North Sea

The British government has approved the extraction license for the Jackdaw offshore gas field, located roughly 250 kilometres east of Aberdeen in the North Sea. Infrastructure for the project is reported to be largely complete, with production projected to potentially begin by the end of October. Whether the increased supply will noticeably lower consumer bills remains unresolved by energy analysts.
