Eastern Libya backs maritime agreement with Turkey
Authorities in eastern Libya have reportedly endorsed a maritime demarcation agreement with Turkey following meetings between Turkish officials and Libyan National Army commander Khalifa Haftar. The arrangement challenges regional containment efforts previously pursued by Greece, Cyprus, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates. Official responses from the government in Athens have not been detailed in the initial reports.
