A magnitude 5.9 earthquake occurred in Vanuatu on 19 October 2026 at a reported depth of 10 kilometres. An estimated 2,000 people were located in areas experiencing shaking of modified Mercalli intensity III or higher. It is not yet known whether the event caused any damage or casualties.
