Thousands gather on Ketagalan Boulevard to demand pension and wage reforms

More than 2,000 workers from approximately 20 labor groups gathered on Ketagalan Boulevard in Taipei to demonstrate for increased employer pension contributions and mandatory profit-sharing. Union leaders urged lawmakers to raise the statutory contribution rate from 6 percent to an eventual target of 15 percent. It remains unconfirmed whether the government plans to introduce the proposed legislative amendments.
