Transport strike halts traffic on Bunia-Kasenyi road in Ituri

More than 200 vehicles carrying goods from Uganda are stranded on both sides of the Dele toll station following a strike by transporters on the Bunia-Kasenyi route. Drivers launched the protest on Monday, October 12, over poor conditions along the roughly 60-kilometre road near Lake Albert. It is not yet reported whether negotiations have begun to reopen the route.
