Magnitude 5.5 earthquake recorded in Tonga
A magnitude 5.5 earthquake occurred in Tonga at a depth of approximately 165 kilometres on 12 October 2026. Preliminary reports indicate light shaking corresponding to intensity III was felt by a small number of people. It is not yet confirmed whether any damage or casualties resulted from the event.
