Chinese maritime militia boat reported operating off Taiwan's east coast

Taiwanese officials reported that a Chinese maritime militia boat was spotted operating off Taiwan's east coast alongside a coast guard ship and a research vessel. The vessels were detected more than 30 nautical miles offshore in August, marking the first known detection of a militia vessel in that area. Beijing has not publicly responded to the allegations of coordinated maritime harassment drills.
