High alert declared in Zabaykalsky Krai over foot-and-mouth disease threat

Governor Aleksandr Osipov has introduced a high-readiness regime across Zabaykalsky Krai following concerns over foot-and-mouth disease. Regional authorities denied reports that livestock had been infected, stating the measure was a precaution against potential transmission. Whether any cases have been confirmed within regional herds remains unresolved.
