Magnitude 5.8 earthquake reported in Panama
A magnitude 5.8 earthquake occurred in Panama on 9 October 2026 at a depth of 10 kilometres. Early estimates indicate approximately five thousand people were located in areas with shaking intensity of MMI VII or higher. It is not yet known whether the event resulted in casualties or structural damage.
