Satellite imagery shows military aircraft at Ban Keun airfield in Laos

Commercial satellite images from September 30 show eight light attack aircraft and more than two dozen support vehicles positioned on an active construction runway at the newly opened joint training center at Ban Keun airfield. Security analysts identified the planes as K-8 light attack and training aircraft, following an announcement by China's Ministry of National Defense that the facility will be used to train Lao air force pilots. The long-term operational scope of the joint installation remains unconfirmed by regional defense officials.
