G7 nations agree to release 100 million barrels of fuel reserves
Group of Seven leaders have agreed to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil reserves over four months to address surging fuel prices. United States crude oil prices fell approximately 5 percent following the emergency talks and coordination with the International Energy Agency. European officials had opposed threatened United States diesel export bans while discussions regarding increased production from major refiners remain underway.
