Police deployed tear gas during clashes with demonstrators in Ujjain protesting plans to demolish a section of the Shahi Masjid. The municipal administration has proposed removing a portion of the structure to accommodate a road-widening project scheduled ahead of a religious gathering in 2028. It is not yet reported whether any injuries or arrests occurred during the confrontation.
