Road traffic suspended between Masisi and Walikale following FARDC-M23 clashes

Road traffic has been halted along the Nyabiondo-Kashebere-Mungazi axis connecting Masisi and Walikale territories following renewed fighting between Congolese armed forces and M23 rebels. Local sources reported clashes resumed around Remeka in the Ufamandu 1er groupement, leaving hundreds of travelers and motorcycle taxi drivers stranded. Casualty figures and the current status of the road closure have not been confirmed.
