Iraqi tribesmen report freeing hijacked oil tanker in Gulf of Aden

A tribal leader reported that forty members of a Basra tribe secured the release of an oil tanker and its crew after it was seized by pirates in the Gulf of Aden. Seven alleged attackers were reportedly captured after seizing the vessel and demanding a ransom. Maritime authorities have not independently corroborated the operation or the status of the vessel.
