Ineos suspends operations at Hull chemical facilities

Ineos owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has suspended production at chemical plants in Hull, citing natural gas prices in the United Kingdom that the company stated are twelve times higher than those in the United States. Four independent sources reported the shutdown, noting the company's statement that the Humberside operations cannot compete in the global market under current energy costs. It is not yet clear when production at the sites might resume.
