US Treasury sanctions Iranian crypto exchange BitBank and linked entities
The U.S. Treasury has issued sanctions against the Iranian digital asset venture BitBank, its developer Pishtaz Simorgh Electronic Trade Company, and three associates of financier Babak Zanjani. Authorities state the targets engaged in illicit financial activity and sanctions evasion, including processing payments related to Hormuz.
