Russia withdraws consent for German consulate general in St. Petersburg
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it has withdrawn its consent for the German Consulate General in St. Petersburg to operate. Reports state the mission was required to cease operations by September 18, alongside restrictions on German Goethe-Institut cultural centres. Subsequent reports state the consulate has formally closed its doors.
