Saudi Arabia says its air defences destroyed a drone south of Makkah before it entered the city's airspace. Spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Malki attributed the unmanned aircraft to Yemen's Houthi rebels. Reports have not confirmed whether there were any casualties or ground damage from falling debris.
