Japan records fourth consecutive monthly trade deficit in August
Japan's Ministry of Finance reported a trade deficit of 1.1056 trillion yen for August, marking the fourth straight month of deficit. The shortfall was driven by surging import costs, particularly for crude oil, which rose 58.7 percent compared to the same period last year. It remains unconfirmed when the trend of rising energy import costs will ease.
