Houthi forces seize Greater and Lesser Hanish islands in southern Red Sea
Houthi fighters have deployed onto the islands of Greater Hanish and Lesser Hanish in the southern Red Sea, according to Yemeni government and Houthi officials. The islands lie roughly 160 kilometers north of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait along major shipping channels. Casualty figures and the full extent of the deployment have not been independently confirmed.
