School bus driver falls ill in Chiayi County before student halts vehicle
A 70-year-old school bus driver fell ill while transporting more than twenty high school students in Zhuqi Township, Chiayi County, striking a parked car and utility poles. A high school student brought the vehicle to a stop by applying the handbrake and removing the ignition key after noticing the driver was incapacitated, allowing the passengers to exit safely without reported injuries. The driver was hospitalised and regained consciousness, with medical staff suspecting heat exhaustion.
