Power breakdown at Dhabeji disrupts Karachi water supply

A power breakdown at the Dhabeji pumping station on Sunday morning disrupted supply to Karachi, causing an estimated shortfall of 100 million gallons of water, according to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation. Officials said utility provider K-Electric had begun work to reconnect an affected cable and restore power to the pumps. It is not yet clear how long the repairs will take or when full water service will resume across the affected parts of the city.
