Volcanic alert raised to Level 3 at Mount Tokachi

Japan's meteorological authority has raised the volcanic alert level for Mount Tokachi from Level 2 to Level 3, barring entry to the mountain due to an increase in larger earthquakes. Officials warned of the risk of large volcanic projectiles within roughly three kilometres of the crater. It is not yet reported whether any eruption has occurred or if any damage has taken place.
