US proposal to expand Sudan arms embargo faces opposition and delay at UN

Sudanese Armed Forces Commander Abdelfattah El Burhan stated that a United States proposal to expand an arms embargo to all of Sudan will fail at the United Nations. Reports indicate that a UN Security Council vote on the measure was postponed at the last minute. The final timing and outcome of any vote on the proposal have not been confirmed.
