Reports of US drone shot down by Iran over Strait of Hormuz

Multiple regional sources report that Iranian air defenses have shot down an American MQ-1C Gray Eagle drone near Bandar Abbas over the Strait of Hormuz. The incident is said to have occurred in southeastern Iran earlier today. Neither the United States nor Iranian authorities have officially confirmed the downing.
